The following terms and conditions apply to all purchases from us, Meldrums Ltd, a company incorporated in Scotland (Registered Number SC2072470 and having our registered office at Eden Valley Business Park, Cupar, Fife KY15 4RB (“we” and “us””) and the buyer (“you”).  By ordering from us, you agree you have read and accepted these terms, [which comprise the following:]

Buyer Status

If you are an individual, you must be 18 years or older and resident in the UK, or incorporated as a business in the UK, to purchase any products or services from us.

Buyer order

An order for products or services made on this site or in-store by you is an offer to purchase such products or services.  We may refuse to accept that offer for any number of reasons – such as unavailability of products or services, or product or pricing errors.  On receipt of an order and payment (in accordance with the terms below), we will send you an email if you are ordering on-line, confirming the products and services that have been ordered.  If you are ordering in-store, you will be provided with a copy of your order and, unless paid on account in accordance with the Invoicing provisions below, a receipt for payment.  Unless agreed otherwise with you in accordance with the Invoicing provisions noted below, the contract is completed when payment has been received by us and we are not legally obliged to provide the products or services ordered until payment in full has been made.

Order cancellation

If you have a change of mind and wish to cancel your order please contact us as soon as possible. If your products have not already been dispatched we will cancel your order and process a refund.  Any payments made will be refunded within 28 days of the date of cancellation.

Right to cancel and return products

If you are a personal customer, you have the right to cancel your order no later than 30 calendar days after the day you receive your products or services provided that the item returned is in its original and unused condition, with all original packaging.

If you decide to cancel your order, please note the following:

You’ll be responsible for the cost of returning the products to us unless we delivered them to you in error or the product was damaged or defective at the date of delivery to you. If we find that the product has not been returned to us in fully resaleable condition, we reserve the right to refuse a refund on the item.  You’ll need to take reasonable care of the products until they’re returned or collected by us. We recommend you pack the products securely. We cannot accept responsibility for any items lost or damaged in transit.  For your protection, we recommend that you use a recorded-delivery service when returning products to us.

We have the right to charge you for any direct costs incurred in collecting the products and missing items, and we may deduct these from any sums owed to you;

We’ll refund the original purchase price (less any discounts we applied at the time of your purchase) for the products or service you are cancelling, together with the delivery charge to you (unless the delivery charge was a priority or express delivery cost) as soon as reasonably possible, and in any case within 28 days of receiving your cancellation request;

You will still be responsible for paying for any services used up to the date of cancellation;

Faulty Items

If you’re experiencing any problems with the products or service you have purchased from us.

You shall inspect the products upon receipt and shall notify us by email, phone or in writing if the products are damaged or do not comply with any of the contract. Where a claim of defect or damage is made, the products must be returned by you at your expense within 30 days of cancellation in the original packaging and should be adequately insured during the return journey. If the products are defective or damaged, you will receive a refund of all monies paid for the products (including delivery charges, if any) except for return postal charges. If you fail to return the products following cancellation, we shall be entitled to deduct the cost of recovering the products from you from any refund payable.

The products to be returned must clearly show the order number obtained us on the package.

Where returned products are found to be damaged due to your actions or omissions or through your fault, you will be liable for the cost of remedying such damage.


Depending on an item being in stock, we may be able to offer an exchange. We will refund the delivery charge if an item received is faulty or if there has been an error on our part. In the case of exchanges for non-faulty items, a re-delivery charge at our standard rate will apply.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to periodically update prices for goods and services on the Website or otherwise in our marketing material, which cannot be guaranteed for any period of time. We shall make every effort to ensure prices are correct at the point at which you place an order. We reserve the right to withdraw any products at any time. We shall not be liable to anyone for withdrawing any products or for refusing to process an order.


All prices shown are inclusive of VAT, where applicable, at the current UK rate.

Product Availability

Meldrums Ltd will endeavour to supply you at all times with the item requested but sometimes may be unable to fulfil an order. In this instance, you will be informed at the earliest opportunity.


We reserve the right to terminate access to this site and any parts of it if your behaviour is found to be at conflict with these terms and conditions at any time.

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any of our obligations if the delay or failure results from events or circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to, acts of God, strikes, lock outs, accidents, war, fire, failure of any communications, telecommunications or computer system, breakdown of plant or machinery or shortage or unavailability of raw materials from a natural source of supply, and we shall be entitled to a reasonable extension of any time for performance of obligations.
