This light weight chainsaw features a 40% higher chain speed and 15% increase in motor performance over its predecessor, the MSA 160 T. The low profile, ¼ P chain reduces chain chatter for a smooth and precise finish.
The battery-powered chainsaw features a trigger side-lock button for added safety, a large throttle interlock lever and carrying ring for attaching the saw for aerial use. Cordless capability means that the MSA 161 T is so quiet in operation that ear defenders aren’t required while working. The STIHL electric motor is extremely energy efficient, light and compact. It runs quietly, generates very low vibrations and doesn’t require servicing. QuickStop Super Chain brake system designed by STIHL ensures chain over run is stopped within seconds, helping to protect the user. A hand guard ensures clear feedback when engaging or disengaging the chain brake. The tank can be filled quickly and easily using the toolless filler cap, while the side chain tensioner located at the side of the chainsaw via the sprocket cover, removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain.
