STIHL 2-mix engine specially designed for the new generation of hedge trimmers combines low consumption and emissions ​​with low weight and excellent acceleration, plus always having sufficient power reserves for cutting thicker shrubs.

A genuine advance in easy starting. STIHL ErgoStart (E) cuts the effort required to start the tool by half, while the starter cord can be pulled at just a third of the normal force. All it takes is two fingers and a gentle pull action. Electronic ignition module ensures reliable starting and trouble-free running. The ignition system is fully encapsulated and thus protected from damp and dirt.

A small Purger manual fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburettor at the touch of a button, reducing the number of starting pulls required following extended breaks in operations. STIHL’s effective anti-vibration system dampens the engine oscillations, significantly reducing vibrations at the handles and potential long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms.

The sophisticated geometry of the double-sided cutting blade ensures a clean cut on even stronger, thicker branches, while the cutting variations with wide tooth spacing and longer tooth height are designed specifically for large volume cutting and completing clearing work more faster. The gearing allows a high cutting power at a medium stroke rate.

The long-life air filter delivers longer cleaning intervals and better protection of the engine. The handle rotates by 90° to the left and right, ensuring the best cutting position at all times. And when the task is complete, the integral suspension lug in the handle offers safe and easy storage.
